The Cairo Day Tour from Marsa Alam by Flight is the most efficient way to experience Egypt’s capital from the Red Sea coast. Rather than enduring an 8–9 hour overland drive, you board an early morning EgyptAir flight from Hurghada Airport (approximately 2.5 hours transfer from Marsa Alam) and arrive in Cairo in under an hour — giving you a full and productive day to explore some of the world’s most iconic ancient and historical sites before flying home in the evening.
Your day begins with a midnight pickup from your Marsa Alam hotel, transferring you to Hurghada Airport for a 5:00 AM flight to Cairo. Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, your private Egyptologist guide and driver will be waiting to begin your day. First stop: the Pyramids of Giza plateau — one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the only one still standing. You will stand at the base of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the largest stone structure in history, and hear your guide explain the engineering mysteries, the religious purpose, and the human story behind its construction over 4,500 years ago. The Pyramid of Khafre, slightly smaller but perched on higher ground, appears equally imposing. The smallest of the three, Menkaure, is also the most elegantly proportioned. Nearby, the Great Sphinx — the largest monolith statue in the world, with the body of a lion and the face believed to represent Pharaoh Khafre — stands eternal guard over the plateau.
A visit to the Valley Temple of Khafre offers a rare close-up look at Old Kingdom architecture before you head to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square. Housing over 120,000 items on public display, the museum is the world’s largest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts. Your guide will lead you directly to the must-see pieces: the mask of Tutankhamun, his golden throne, the royal mummies (optional, $25 extra), and the stunning jewellery and ceremonial objects that illuminate daily and divine life in ancient Egypt. Lunch follows at a restaurant with views of the pyramids, then a final stop at Khan El Khalili Bazaar for coffee, spices, souvenirs, and Cairo’s most electric atmosphere. Your evening flight returns you to Hurghada, with a private transfer back to your Marsa Alam hotel arriving around 10:00 PM.
